380 grams of Cornmeal
125 grams of Wheat flour
575 milliliters of Water
19 grams of Salt
6 grams of Yeast
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare this cornbread, pour boiling water over the cornmeal and mix with a wooden spoon, letting the mixture rest as it cools.
Step 2 : Meanwhile, mix the other ingredients and let them rest in a covered container.
Step 3 : Then, combine both mixtures while stirring to ensure a homogeneous mixture.
Step 4 : It is important that the dough is tall, so it’s not just crust.
Step 5 : Grease an English bread mold with butter, pour the mixture into it, cover, and let it rest for 8 hours.
Step 6 : If you don't have the mold, you can use a pot instead.
Step 7 : Then, bake at 200°C (392°F) for 1 hour and 15 minutes, until the bread takes on a dark color.
Step 8 : It is recommended to serve with rich sardines, fatty and grilled.
