Pequi Liquor
Ingredients
1 liter of Grain alcohol
6 Pequis
1 liter of Water
500 grams of Sugar
1 Fern branch
Preparation
Step 1 : First, the pequis should be submerged in alcohol inside a well-sealed jar.
Step 2 : It is important to allow the pequis to remain there for about a month, so their flavors can infuse into the alcohol.
Step 3 : Next, prepare a thick syrup by heating water and sugar in a pot.
Step 4 : Bring to a boil and cook until achieving a proper consistency, dense but still manageable.
Step 5 : Once ready, let it cool completely.
Step 6 : After the syrup has cooled, gently mix it with the infused alcohol, ensuring all ingredients are well incorporated and maintaining the clarity of the liquid.
Step 7 : Then, remove the fern leaves from the branch and place them into the cooled syrup to dry.
Step 8 : It is advisable to let them rest on a cloth so they dry completely.
Step 9 : Finally, insert the fern branch into a clean bottle and pour in the infused liquor along with the syrup and dried leaves.
Step 10 : Seal the bottle tightly to ensure the preservation of the mixture.
